Import Locations
Easily import your location data from Google Maps Timeline.
- Open the Google Maps app and tap your profile picture or initial.
- Select "Your timeline".
- Tap the cloud icon in the top right.
- Turn off "Don't auto delete activity" if it's on.
- Navigate to "Backup" and turn it on.
- In device settings, go to "Location > Location Services > Timeline > Export
timeline data".
- Select a folder and filename for the export.
- The data will be saved as a JSON file.
- Go to Google Maps on your browser.
- Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
- Select "Your timeline".
- Click the settings icon and choose "Export this timeline".
- Choose a date range and export the data as a JSON file.
- Save the file to your computer.
